About
The engineering team your agency doesn't have to hire
Weston Digital is a software engineering practice based in Wales, with over a decade of building and maintaining enterprise applications, now pointed at one problem: making agency portfolios fast, cheap to run, and simple to maintain.
Why we exist
Agencies sell outcomes. Someone has to run the machines.
Most agencies are brilliant at strategy, design and client relationships — and quietly haemorrhage time on hosting bills, plugin conflicts and "quick change" requests.
That operational drag is the part we take. Not the client relationship, not the creative work. Just the engineering.
We work with a small number of agency partners rather than many one-off clients. That's deliberate: fewer relationships, deeper ones, and a service that's productized enough to be dependable — fixed rates, written SLAs, gated launches.
10+ years in production
From enterprise .NET systems to modern static architectures — we've built, shipped and maintained software that businesses depend on daily.
Engineering-first, not sales-first
There's no account management layer here. The person answering your email is the person who ships the change.
Based in Wales, working UK-wide
UK hours, UK contracts, and close enough to actually meet the agencies we work with.
The technical position
Why pre-rendered architecture, specifically
This isn't a stack we picked this year. It's the endpoint of a simple argument.
Most sites don't need a server
A brochure site that renders the same page for every visitor shouldn't run PHP and a database on every request. We pre-render everything to plain HTML — the fastest and most secure thing a browser can receive, and exactly what Google'sCore Web Vitalsreward.
The edge is effectively free
Serving static assets from hundreds of global edge locations costs effectively nothing. That's not a discount — it's a structural difference the legacy hosting industry can't match.
No moving parts, no 3am panics
No plugins to update, no database to corrupt, no admin panel to brute-force. Static sites fail rarely, and when something needs changing, it's a reviewed code change with full version history.
Sound like the partner you're missing?
Talk to the person who'd actually be doing the work. No pitch deck or slides, just the before/after numbers on one of your client sites.
